93/100 Falstaff

One of Marlborough’s benchmark Sauvignon Blancs, Kim Crawford is a four-time winner of Wine Spectator’s ‘Top 100’ wines accolade and this Small Parcels Spitfire Sauvignon Blanc is a special wine which takes its name from the famous site in Marlborough used as an air force base during WWII.

An exuberant wine, Spitfire is a distinctively Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Made with carefully selected grapes grown in the renowned Marlborough region of New Zealand, this Sauvignon Blanc is a clear pale straw colour with aromas of lime, grapefruit and passionfruit. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant with zesty acidity, and intense complex flavours of citrus balanced with ripe tropical fruits of passionfruit and white peach with a hint of tomato leaf. Crisp acidity and a delightful, lingering finish round out this stunning wine.

It has a long, crisp finish that leaves a refreshing acidity on the tongue. It pairs well with seafood, salads, or light appetizers. Overall, the Kim Crawford Spitfire Small Parcels Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a standout among Sauvignon Blanc wines and a true reflection of the unique terroir in which it was grown.

Delicious as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with oysters, asparagus, goat’s cheese and summer salads.
