Tasting notes for Etna Rosato 2022:
The delicate pink colour heralds a wine with the finesse and freshness of Nerello Mascalese, which delivers juicy and satisfying flavours, making it perfect for an aperitif, starters, and uncomplicated dishes.
Aromas of cherries and strawberries with aromas of rose and a savoury mineral palate.
Tantalizing and sapid flavours with good structure, fresh acidity, and a finish of red fruits.
Le Cantine Murgo:
This winery ticks all the right boxes: family-owned, quality-focused boutique producer; distinctive, thought-provoking wines with a real sense of place; outstanding value for money.
If you’re familiar with wines from Etna, you’ll know the story. Exciting indigenous grapes, steep, sun kissed slopes, gnarled vines, ancient volcanic soils and a constant, underlying threat of eruption. Dramatically situated at 500m about sea level, Cantine Murgo enjoys both incredible views and a very different climate to the typical Sicilian experience of unrelenting heat. Altitude adds cool night-time temperatures to sun-soaked Sicilian days, lending wonderful freshness and aromatic complexity to Cantine Murgo’s wines, while volcanic soils result in a distinct mineral character throughout the range. Etna is one of the world’s most unique grape growing regions – and these fantastic wines show just how good the results can be.
