Master of Wine Jancis Robinson called this delectable, full-flavoured, dry sparkling wine ‘mountain stream stuff’. Made as Champagne, J Laurens Crémant de Limoux ‘Les Graimenous Brut’ is an exceptional wine—a tête de cuvée—upon which the reputation of Domaine J Laurens is built.
First impressions are of an intense and complex nose of citrus and dried fruits, honey with a touch of green apple. On the palate, we find all the expression of a well-rounded wine, of toast with fresh fruits, lime and hazelnuts. Long finish.
Members love this as a Champagne aperitif, and it’s delicious with tapas, seafood, white meat and cheese. This bottling is a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Chenin Blanc, 5% Mauzac—the primary local varietal—and 5% Pinot Noir

Cremant de Limoux
While most wine aficionados abide by the common refrain that Dom Perignon invented sparkling wine amongst the rolling hills of Champagne, the natives of Limoux tell a markedly different story. In their version of the tale, Dom Perignon travelled to Limoux to learn the art from the monks of Abbey de Saint Hilaire.
Domaine J. Laurens continue this sparkling legacy, crafting stunning white bubbles in this small commune south of Carcassonne. This bottling is a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Chenin Blanc, 5% Mauzac – the primary local varietal – and 5% Pinot Noir.
