This award-winning Domaine Perraud white Burgundy could easily become a house favourite. It is a fine example of a young producer striking out on his own with the family’s vineyards to create what is on the way to becoming one of the Mâconnais’ most respected domaines. This Macon-Villages Chardonnay is delicious, in particular perfectly matching chicken and salmon, and the Club Tasting panel highly recommend it as one of your own house whites!
Jean-Christophe Perruad’s Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay is a cut above the rest. This wine shows exceptional elegance and complexity for this modest price—it was awarded 2 stars in the prestigious Guide Hachette 2015.
The wine is bright yellow in colour, with lively citrus and fragrant white flower aromas on the nose. The palate is medium to full bodied, generous and round, with beautifully rich stone fruit flavours tempered by a fresh, zippy acidity. A mineral-driven, long finish is beautifully balanced by the wine’s fresh acidity and rich fruit profile.
100% Chardonnay. Delicious alone, it is a perfect pairing for roast chicken and salmon, and ideal with creamy sauces.

From Domaine Perraud:
‘Our Macon-Villages vines are situated essentially in the village of La Roche Vineuse. The wines are vinified plot by plot and assembled to produce a traditional Macon-Villages. The soils are varied with clay,limestone, silt and flint. Age of vines: 15 years.
Vinification
Long fermentation in temperature-regulated stainless-steel vats. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. On fine lees in stainless steel exclusively with the less manipulation possible . Maturation: 6 to 8 months. Long stabilisation with moderate cooling. Bentonite bonding if necessary. A single, light filtration before bottling with care by a professional group.
Tasting
Delicious with fowl or sauce-based fish dishes.
Serve between 10°C and 12°C.
