The award-winning 2017 Malbec Kaiken Ultra, from one of the prime estates in Mendoza—and the best vintage for many years—is an exceptional wine at a superb price. Deep, ruby red with violet hues, on the nose it is floral and spicy and on the palate structured and powerful, with sweet plum, mocha and black cherry flavours. Oak is well integrated and tannins soft. Long and polished on the finish, the wine is fresh, complex and persistent, with fruit and subtle, spicy undertones of rosemary, thyme and dried flowers. Excellent with beef, and particularly with creamy dishes such as steak with green pepper or mushroom sauce. Case of 12 bottles.
