This delicious Crianza Rioja, made solely from Tempranillo grapes, is from the multi-award-winning El Coto estate in Rioja, Spain. Aged in American oak for 12 months followed by a further six months in bottle before release, the resulting wine is clean, vibrant and supple. The 2020 is exceptionally balanced with layers of fresh raspberry, cherry, spice and toasted oak, building to a silky finish. It perfectly complements a variety of meats and cheeses, especially lamb and jamon.

The critics have summed it up nicely:

Notes James Suckling, ‘Creamy oak spices and chocolate to the elegant berries and plums. Medium-bodied on the palate with a fluid core of red fruit followed by soft tannins and a juicy, medium-length finish with a hint of cream.’

And from Decanter: ‘Soft and delicate, with layers of blackberries, coconut cream and blackberry jam. Crunchy and vibrant, with well-integrated oak and gentle, soft tannins.
