93/100 – Decanter
92/100 – Wine Enthusiast, Roger Voss
91/100 – William Kelley, robertparker.com
The Ruinart Blanc de Blancs has arrived—and happily at an exclusive best price. This is a Grand Cru Champagne for aficionados. This beautiful, distinctive and elegant golden Champagne is one of the finest Blanc de Blancs—and it’s a CountryClubuk favourite.
Very fine on the nose and palate, fresh and well-balanced, this non-vintage Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes and presented in a replica of the 18th-century Ruinart Champagne clear glass bottle.
Its appearance is luminous, with subtle green glints and a persistent stream of fine bubbles. On the nose, fresh fruits, dominated by bright citrus fruit and pineapple, mingle with notes of spices and white flowers such as jasmine. On the palate, supple and full-bodied characteristics give way to a clean, pure and well-defined palate. Savour a refreshing finish of white peach and lemon in a long and delicate finale.
Our Members love this Champagne, and so do the connoisseurs at Decanter magazine, who awarded it an impressive 93/100 in their most recent tasting. In Wine Enthusiast, Roger Voss notes, ‘With its 100% Chardonnay, this Champagne is finely textured, elegant with minerality and the freshest crispest apple flavours. It does have some weight and certainly has intensity—a satisfying, textured wine that is ready to drink.’
Notes William Kelley (robertparker.com), awarding 91/100: ‘Light greenish yellow, silver reflections; lively mousse. Floral nose, fine white peach fruit and fresh apple, mineral freshness, a hint of biscuit. Fine, silky palate is carried by a lively acidity, vinous texture, lemony aftertaste; an animating food wine with good ageing potential.’ The Ruinart Resident Chef Valérie Radou and Cellar Master Frédéric Panaïotis recommend pairing with seafood.
Case of 6 bottles, 75cl. RSP £480 plus delivery. CCUK Members, £429.50 including UK mainland delivery.
