An iconic form of world famous Thiernoise cutlery, this sommelier corkscrew is designed to perfect the art of smoothly and easily uncorking even older vintage wines by means of a conical sommelier wick, delicately inserted into the most fragile corks without breaking them. Its double toad allows easy opening of bottles in two steps. This uncorks the bottles gently, without breakage. Moreover, the double step lever makes it easier to open.
Designed and made in the famous Thiers workshops of Claude Dozorme, Master Craftsman Cutler, the company founded in 1902, it is made in a traditional way, each corkscrew stamped Claude Dozorme the work of a qualified craftsman. All steps of production are integrated in Thiers, the French capital of cutlery. Claude Dozorme thus guarantees his 100% French products.
In addition to the specially constructed conical wick, Le Thiers is equipped with a foil cutter with a micro-serrated edge and a bottle opener. The handle is polished natural black ebony and a beautiful design is carved along its spine in steel. The Dozorme family started producing knives in 1902 in Monnerie, near Thiers, where Blaise Dozorme set up a workshop in his home. His skill and knowledge of the industry gave a well-respected beginning which grew over the years. Now with 18 employees distributed among the various workshops of the manufacturing chain, the Claude Dozorme cutlery firm produces several hundred pieces from start to finish every day.
Steel cutting, grinding, polishing, assembly … the key steps in manufacturing a Claude Dozorme stamped product have not changed for over a century.
