We selected it from Magee of Donegal, renowned tailors since the 1800s, because their cut, line and balance are second to none, the cloth they weave is beautiful, and with their hand finishing and attention to detail, their suit is elegant yet comfortable enough to wear everywhere from boardroom to dinner, to a wedding or other formal event, to a day at the office. This is a suit which always looks the part.

It is hardly surprising, then, that this suit sells in smart shops in London’s St James’s for upwards of £500. Not only do Magee create an elegant line, designed to flatter a man’s figure, the cloth for this particular suit is 340g (12oz) smooth pure wool, which is hard wearing and makes it the perfect medium-weight suit to wear, and look good, all year. Ideal for the city, it is fully lined and comfortably warm enough for air-conditioned offices and in a stiff breeze too. With all this, and its attractive plain black colour which naturally goes with most shirt and tie combinations, it will be the most versatile, stylish and practical suit you can buy.

The jacket is a single-breasted two-button style with two side vents, hand-stitched lapels and working lapel buttonhole. The front pockets are straight, flapped and jetted, and the breast pocket is elegantly angled. The hand-stitched silky black lining holds four interior pockets, one buttoned for security.

The smart matching trousers are half lined to give a better drape, they have a plain front, a plain leg, slanted side pockets and belt loops. Furthermore, you can order different sizes and fittings in the jacket and trousers, to achieve the perfect fit.
