Tartan was a major player at this Autumn/Winter 2023-2024 Fashion Week. On the catwalks, designers reinterpreted the pattern, starting with Burberry, and also combining purple and lilac. At Saint Laurent a plaid scarf draped as a stole became a standout motif.

Here it is in the sumptuously soft, smooth texture of fine cashmere, hand-woven by artisans in the Himalayas in gorgeous shades of purple and lilac in the checks, with a line of burnt orange to add a delightful contrast. It is beautifully made and expertly finished, a wide band of elongating lines at the ends culminating in its narrow fine cashmere fringes. This is high quality Himalayan cashmere, light and soft enough so you can hardly feel you are wearing it, yet also warm enough for the colder days ahead.

With a length of 7ft 2in by 2ft 6in wide (218x76cm), it makes a lovely long stole to drape over bare shoulders or over a cashmere knit, a dress or coat, and it is light enough to fold or scrunch into a scarf and style around the neck.
