The new silk devore stoles from English artist Caroline Hall are truly original works of art. ‘Authentic patterns grow out of life’s experiences and joys,’ she says. ‘The challenge is to transform an idea into something that will enhance the design and complement and delight the wearer.’ This is Caroline’s philosophy as first she draws her designs, then creates her silk stoles to the final finished piece. Her inspiration is her garden in Devon, where she grows her trees and flowers and observes their patterns, light and shade, as the seasons pass.
Passionflower is the theme for the subtle, elegant large crepe silk devore stole (right), created by hand in the most elegant hues of silver and indigo. Caroline makes it in this colour, and others. The Passionflower Stole is 1.90m (6ft 2in) by 0.51m (1ft 8in) wide. Silk and natural viscose.
