Beautifully tailored in England, the style—an elegant check in subtle shades, one of silver-greys and the other adding wine red to the grey—is gently sculted to flatter the figure, with side vents on the hips. It is well cut in wool-blend tweed and lined with velvet for contrast—black for the silver-grey colours and wine for the wine-red—all the way up to the smart stand collar, giving a soft and comfortable feel next to the skin. The velvet extends to the full satin lining in the same colour, giving a seamless colour and a smart touch when the gilet is worn unbuttoned.
Both waistcoats look superb over a roll-neck sweater with a contrast tweed skirt, as Burberry showed unbuttoned on the catwalk this season, or with cords, trousers or plain skirts. This great waistcoat is so versatile as well as original, beautifully designed and made in London, with extra tailoring details which all help to create just the right impression. It has a five-button front with two proper pleated and flapped front pockets, fastened with a button and also lined in velvet.
The silver-grey is in UK sizes 10 and 12, and the wine in UK sizes 14 and 18.
Non-Members £90. CCUK £47.
