This beautifully tailored pure wool heavyweight tweed jacket from Ireland is a real find: newly launched for 2012, it is a flashback to an older, more elegant era of fine quality tweed tailoring for winter. It is the smartest, warmest, and most flattering we have seen in years—the excellent cut, fitted shape, substantial yet soft wool tweed, longer length and subtle mixture of soft moss greens with purple and brown overcheck, all will make a man look debonair, yet keep him warm. It will probably last a lifetime. This superb jacket sells in shops for £335—but you as a Club Member have an exclusive deal, saving £138.
Woven and tailored by Magee in Ireland—who have, as they say, ‘been perfecting the art of tailoring since the 1800s’—this very fine jacket has excellent line and balance, with superb tailoring details and hand finishing. All in all, it looks made to measure.
Though warm enough to wear from autumn through winter and into spring, with a cloth weight of 600g (21oz), it is sleek not bulky, and the single-breasted, two-button style, gently-waisted cut and side vents make it particularly suited to showing off a manly figure.
The jacket has an angled breast pocket, two front flapped and jetted pockets and four cuff buttons. There are four interior pockets, one buttoned, another for tickets, and a dashing silky purple lining and moss-and-white striped sleeve linings.
Sizes 38-46in chest in short, 38-48in in regular and 42-46in in long fittings.
RRP £335. CCUK £197.
