It is known as ‘pigeon blood’ because of its gorgeously rich and distinct depth of red. In certain light it seems to ‘sing’, glowing like a hot coal in its setting of 18ct white and yellow gold—a beautifully designed combination which showcases the diamonds and ruby in a halo of white gold, above a band of 18ct yellow gold.
This magnificent ruby was mined in northern Burma, the single source of the most highly prized rubies. It weighs 1.43 carats and its beauty is showcased to perfection between the two high-quality oval brilliant cut diamonds weighing nearly half a carat in total, each a beautiful stone in its own right—being F in colour, and therefore very white, and VS in quality so that they are flawless to the naked eye.
As a celebratory gift, ruby is the precious gem for 15th and 40th wedding anniversaries.
