An exceptional pair of sapphire, diamond and 18ct white gold earrings. Named Les Jardins de la Princesse, designed and created by an international craftsman jeweller, the exquisite design features 10 large natural blue sapphires like precious fruits on a diamond bough, its leaves moving as if caught in a breeze. This style is at one with the Parisian haute joaillerie of today, the inspiration from the natural world and the open air, and the quality of gems and craftsmanship is dazzling and detailed. Sapphires of a gorgeous blue, oval brilliant cut, were selected to create the exquisite design, set off by the sparkling white brilliance of 44 round cut diamonds. The setting is beautifully articulated, so the lower sections of the earrings move just enough to give the perfect dancing effect as a woman inclines her head: the hand workmanship in the settings is superb. The sapphires total nearly 15 carats in weight, a perfect Royal blue, exceptionally vibrant, and the diamonds flash their white fire. As to the details of these precious Ceylon sapphire and diamond earrings, they are particularly fine, the 18ct white gold setting beautifully realised, set with 10.71 carats of oval brilliant cut Ceylon sapphires and 3.92 carats of diamonds, round brilliant cut, F/G in colour and VS in quality, and thus flawless to the eye. Length 6cm (just over 2in).
