Founded in January 1955, Guards Polo Club was originally named the Household Brigade Polo Club, with Prince Philip as President, a position which he still occupies. The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Princes William and Harry regularly attend, and Guards Clubhouse was designed by the Prince of Wales, who said of his sport, ‘I cannot help feeling that there are few team games in existence to rival polo for sheer excitement, speed and fascination.’
Exclusive Members’ invitation to the prestigious Cartier Queen’s Cup 2019 in Polo’s 150th Anniversary Year at Guards Polo Club, with Champagne Reception and Three-Course Lunch by Mosimann’s in Guards Clubhouse: Semi-Finals Day sold out
We are delighted to announce an invitation for our Members to enjoy the prestigious Cartier Queen’s Cup at Guards Polo Club, Smith’s Lawn, Windsor in an historic year—the 150th Anniversary of the Sport of Polo as we know it. This is the jewel in the crown of English polo, one of the world’s top five polo tournaments and a quintessentially English sporting day. The Cartier Queen’s Cup attracts the world’s best players and encapsulates the best of the British Season. This 22-goal tournament runs for six weeks, climaxing with the Semi-Finals and the Finals, when HM The Queen historically presents her trophy to the winning team.
Guards Polo Club is inviting our Members to attend this, the first official High Goal Tournament of the season, for the Semi-Finals (this year on Wednesday, June 12) and the Finals (Sunday, June 16), when HM The Queen is again expected to attend with other Members of the Royal Family.
