Named ‘World Whisky of the Year’ in connoisseur Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2009, Ardbeg Uigeadail takes its name from the mysterious loch which supplies the peat-laden water used to make Ardbeg. It has great balance, beautifully complemented by sherry, and our Members can enjoy it at an exclusive Members-only price of £259 for a case of six individually gift-wrapped bottles (instead of the retail price of £307).
The name Uigeadail is Gaelic for ‘Dark and Mysterious Place’, and this cask-strength single malt whisky is also dark and mysterious, a true Islay malt with notes of peat and tar and a good helping of malt and smoked barley. It has a very long finish, caramel and malt weaving their way through peat smoke and dark sugar and just a hint of espresso coffee.
