An historic estate from the Piedmont region of Italy, La Giustiniana produces this classic white Gavi di Gavi from one of their two ‘Cru’ single vineyards, ‘Lugarara’. This rich, elegant 2023 vintage is mouth-wateringly good with plenty of fine fruit and a long, zesty fresh finish.

Made from the Cortese grape, this wine has a pale yellow colour and delicate aromas of citrus and orchard fruits, with a hint of fresh dough. On the palate, it is light to medium in body, crisp but not austere, with a lovely elegance and fruitiness along with its freshness, and more ripe lemon and apple fruit flavours on the long, dry finish. It’s unoaked and is all about the pure fruit character and refreshment.

La Giustiniana is a large wine estate in the Rovereto di Gavi part of the Piedmont wine region, in the province of Alessandria. In 1625 the property passed to the Giustiniani family, hence the name; it’s one of the very oldest estates in the region.

Gavi is one of the best wines for matching food, particularly fish and seafood, and it also goes well with poultry. This wine would suit antipasti, particularly vegetable, including artichokes or creamy mushrooms and risotto. Drink now until summer 2026. 13% alcohol by volume.

Case of 12 bottles: RRP £263 plus delivery. CCUK £187 including UK mainland delivery.
