Discover La Ligière, one of the names redefining modern Vacqueyras.
At the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, where the limestone peaks dissolve into lavender fields, Philippe and Sylvie Bernard tend their organically farmed vineyards at Domaine La Ligière. Vacqueyras may be one of the Rhône’s sunniest appellations, yet in the Bernards’ hands it speaks with remarkable freshness and definition.
From the sun-drenched slopes of Vacqueyras in the Southern Rhône, Domaine La Ligière crafts wines that capture both the warmth and refinement of the region. The 2022 vintage is a superb example — a Grenache-led blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre, offering depth, balance and remarkable drinkability.
In the glass, it reveals aromas of ripe strawberry, cherry and sappy florals, layered with notes of Provençal herbs, spice and a hint of lavender. The palate is supple and medium-bodied, with velvety tannins and a fresh, elegant finish that carries beautifully.
Critics have already recognised its quality, with 90–92+ points from Jeb Dunnuck and 92 points from Natalie MacLean, highlighting both its structure and finesse. The wine has also been reviewed by Jancis Robinson MW, further underlining the growing reputation of this estate.
A terroir-driven gem, this is a particularly versatile food wine, and it comes into its own with roast lamb—where its ripe fruit, herbal notes and gentle spice echo classic rosemary and garlic flavours. It is equally at home with roast prime ribe of beef, venison with juniper and redcurrant, grilled meats, Mediterranean dishes, slow-roasted vegetables and aged manchego cheese.
Drinking beautifully now and over the next 5–8 years.
