This well-cut tweed shooting coat by Musto is stylish and filled with tailoring and technical merit to make it more than a cut above. In a smart olive green weave with teal and wine windowpane overcheck, it looks great covertside and elsewhere. And behind the smart turnout lies an innovative cloth named Stretch Technical Tweed, which makes it more flexible and comfortable to wear, as well as waterproof, breathable and lightweight compared to a normal wool coat.

Musto achieve the extra comfort, flexibility, lightness and ease of movement by creating a new 96% pure wool Scottish Cheviot blend cloth incorporating just a touch of polyamide to add strength in one direction of weave, and Lycra to add stretch and freedom of movement in the other.

This freedom of movement is what matters in shooting, but also in working and walking the dogs, riding and much else, even getting in and out of the car! On top of all this, the blend of fibres improves durability and water-resistance, while an additional Teflon coating helps waterproofing and stain protection. A BR1 drop liner increases waterproof, windproof and breathable qualities.

Everything has been thought of to create this practical and intelligent design. Features include the strong two-way zip protected by a double storm flap, bellows pockets with retainer straps for cartridges, a storm flap covering the studs to prevent damage to the gun stock, collar and chin guard lined with soft, durable Clarino suede, fleece lined handwarmer pockets with concealed cargo pocket flap retainer, adjustable non-absorbent inner fleece cuff, inner security pocket and inner buttoned pocket in the lining, two internal poacher’s pockets, an articulated sleeve design for extra movement, a high performance hydrophilic drop liner and a Teflon finish as an extra water-repellent.

The tweed composition is Scottish Cheviot and worsted wools, 96%, combined with 4% nylon filaments to increase strength, reduce pilling and water absorption.
