Christys’ London, our historic Club hatmakers, have this season produced a series of even finer Panama hats than before, handwoven with finesse to create the beautiful, supple, fine weave which goes to making a great Panama hat.

Named the Superfine (Grade 16) Down Brim Preset Panama, with bleached hood and matching band, it is hand blocked and finished by Christys’ in their Oxfordshire workshops using exquisite hand woven hoods made in Cuenca, Ecuador from 100% Toquilla Palm. It is finished with a removable Christys Crest Pin.

You can feel and see the quality—and it retails for £300, which is twice the price of Christys’ next finest Panama hat, which is also excellent. But since Christys have been creating hats since the 1700s, they really know their stuff, and for those who want the best, without paying thousands of pounds for the pleasure, this really is the hat to have, and to enjoy for years to come.

The approximate crown height is 12cm, and brim width is 7.4cm (front), 6.35cm (sides) and 6.6cm (back).
