The best full-grain leather shotgun slips are stylish and hard-wearing—and the best in Britain these days are made by Croots England in Yorkshire. All who admire fine British craftsmanship will be impressed by these gunslips—they are exquisite. And Croots, who have been making their fine leather bridle hide pieces in the heart of Yorkshire racing country since 1978, are at the top of their game. They create their single gunslips in two different styles: the Byland, which is better than most (see separate listing), and this, the Malton, which is unsurpassed.

The Malton exhibits the highest level of craftsmanship in every detail. This slip has the best of everything—natural vegetable-tanned leather, hand-cured and stained, producing a smooth aniline finish, hand waxed and hand-stitched. This age-old process of fats, oils and waxes feeds the leather, adding a deep layer of protection and giving a very distinctive look. The buckles are solid brass.

Each slip is individually hand-sewn and handcrafted and features include a full padded fleece lining, protecting the guns from knocks as well as helping to absorb any moisture on the gun. It has a classic opening and buckle fastened flap, with an extra zip opening for easy drying. A comfortable leather shoulder sling makes carrying easy.
