You will be joining us aboard the six-star luxury cruise yacht Regent Seven Seas Grandeur to escape the worst of the British winter and cruise the sun-kissed Caribbean in February. If you have not yet planned your next winter getaway, this is a real El Snippo. Your rate will be from only £4,997 per person for a six-star luxury suite with private veranda and simply everything included: excellent wines, fine cuisine in a variety of speciality restaurants and up to 66 free top-grade shore excursions.
The all-suite, all-balcony Seven Seas Grandeur was launched in November 2023 with dramatic new suite designs and elegant guest spaces which make her a floating palace. The sheer beauty of her lines, the excellence of her craftsmanship, the sumptuous and artistic nature of her décor—and her eye-watering multi-million cost to build—mean that she is one of the world’s most luxurious cruise ships. She is certainly the only one to carry a Fabergé Egg!
As with the rest of the Regent Seven Seas fleet, Grandeur isn’t about glitz and bling. Everything looks valuable, impressive and sophisticated rather than showy. Then there is that space ratio, which sounds boring but on a ship is essential to make you feel relaxed and less crowded. Space to breathe, and wind down, is a vital element on a truly relaxing cruise . . .
We set up our arrangement to give our Members unique benefits—and we are thrilled to see how many Members are already sailing with Regent Seven Seas at our unbeatable Club rates.
Our journey encompasses 11 blissful nights in all, cruising to the top Caribbean islands of St Bart’s and St Maarten, Antigua and St Lucia, visiting six fabulous islands in all. And at this time of year the sunshine, relaxation and laidback Caribbean isles hold great attraction. This is a cruise to please tropical sunseekers and lovers of unadulterated luxury—as well as those who know what top quality and great value really are. There is simply no better way to enjoy so many fabulous Caribbean islands in high season, and at this exclusive CountryClubuk rate it is a real El Snippo too.
For this, our Leeward Island Odyssey, we shall board our six-star cruise ship Grandeur on February 10 in the Port of Miami, Florida, USA, having flown there from the UK. Awaiting us, these fabulous, sun-drenched ports of call: Feb 11, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas; Feb 12, Cruising the Atlantic Ocean; Feb 13, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Feb 14, Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Feb 15, Gustavia, St Bart’s; Feb 16, St John’s, Antigua; Feb 17, Castries, St Lucia; Feb 18, Philipsburg, St Maarten; Feb 19, Cruising the Atlantic Ocean;
Feb 20, Cruising the Bahamian Waters; Feb 21, Miami, Florida, disembark followed by return flight, arriving UK on Mar 6.
As the sun goes down over the coast of Florida on our first evening we shall sail out of Miami harbour, setting course for a private island in the Bahamas—our first taste of the tropical sun, sand and sea holiday ahead. We shall have time to relax and explore this fabulous new ship—which is exceptionally large for the small number of passengers she carries. We shall wine and dine to our hearts’ content, in gourmet restaurants and in our own private suite whenever we prefer, remembering that on board Regent Seven Seas Cruises we can simply leave our wallets behind—everything we need is complimentary, from sundowner Champagne cocktails to foie gras and caviar and delicious six-star cuisine in four exceptional restaurants and more.
As dawn breaks we shall be sailing into the sun-blessed Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. On this uninhabited tropical island we can relax in our first rays of the sunshine to come, stroll along the white-sand beaches, snooze in a hammock beneath swaying palms, swim and snorkel in warm, crystal-clear waters, go kayaking, take a paddle boat—or simply unwind in the golden sun and enjoy a favourite cocktail before a delicious fresh beachside barbecue lunch.
That evening we shall be back on board Grandeur as she sails into the sunset and we shall have the evening and the following day on board ship, cruising the Atlantic Ocean and exploring the delights of Grandeur—which truly offers unrivalled space at sea. All 354 suites are more spacious than many competitors—and this living space makes the entire cruise feel more tranquil: Grandeur is not a place for stress, nor for queuing. As to space in your personal suite, even the lowest category is more than 300 sq ft and has its own private balcony—large when compared with other luxury ships—and the Penthouse Suite is a full 560 sq ft with a large balcony. All suites include indulgent touches—marble and granite bathrooms with rainfall showers, walk-in wardrobes, European Kingsize Sleep Slumber beds, high-end linens and luxurious French toiletries. All will add to the luxurious relaxation as Grandeur sails for San Juan, Puerto Rico—rum capital of the world.
San Juan is like an older New Orleans transported to an island paradise. It is Puerto Rica’s capital, a kaleidoscope of colourful sights, bright character and sparkling sea. Christopher Columbus landed here in 1493, during his second voyage, and he it was who named the island ‘San Juan Bautista’, in honour of John the Baptist. History is one angle of interest: there is also the Caribbean idyll of our imagination, of coral sand beaches, crystal lagoons, delicious seafood—and of course the famous Bacardi rum, made on the island since the 16th century, and pina colada, the cocktail which was invented here. A visit is a good excuse (if one were needed) to enjoy a genuine cocktail of choice. Here you might sail in a tall ship, the Amazing Grace, or take a catamaran day trip with gourmet luncheon and stopover in a tropical island for swimming and snorkelling, or take a culinary walking tour punctuated by refreshments of traditional Puerto Rican delicacies and artisan coffees, or explore the old city, the Spanish forts and the luxuriant tropical gardens.
Back on board Grandeur we shall dine in luxury and watch the islands slip by from our private veranda and from Grandeur’s spectacular viewing lounges and decks as we sail on through the night towards the stunning tropical British Virgin Islands. Our evening will be filled with gourmet cuisine. Enjoy Parisian dining in the new Chartreuse restaurant, steaks in the surroundings of a private London club in Prime 7, the contemporary look of fine dining restaurant Compass Rose (only plates by Versace are good enough for this restaurant!), a casual, intimate dining experience with Italian flair in Sette Mari at La Veranda, which has open-air dining—the ultimate sea-view table!—as well as the Pool Grill for day-long delicacies. Speciality coffees are served in the new-look Coffee Connection. Cognac and cigars are offered in the leather-seated, wood-panelled Connoisseur Club. The choices are wide, and nothing is too much trouble for the excellent butlers and waiters aboard ship.
So we are fully rested and revived by the time we arrive in Tortola, capital of the Virgin Isles. The pace is slightly slower, and the attitude is a little more joyous in the Virgin Islands. Spend a glorious day swimming at famed Cane Bay Garden Beach, hiking the island’s rainforest and enjoying a coast to coast scenic drive around this lush island. Swim with dolphins, go sea kayaking or head over to Virgin Gorda and climb down to the famous Baths for a day of swimming and exploring this natural phenomenon. Enjoy the local fish and shop for local crafts and resort wear.
The British Virgin Islands will get us in perfect mood for the elegant French Caribbean which lies ahead. Next morning we shall awake to a vision of the pride of France in the Caribbean, St Bart’s. From its postcard harbour to its 20 spectacular beaches, many travellers consider this beautiful little island to be the closest thing to heaven on earth. Rolling hills, picturesque villages and broad valleys are surrounded by coral reefs, gin-clear waters and blue-green lagoons. A favourite retreat for the rich and famous, St Bart’s is a byword for natural beauty, delicious cuisine, chic boutiques and relaxed ambience. With an international renown which far outstrips its 10 square miles, this tiny island at the top of the Leeward Isles is a magnet for seekers of fine Caribbean living and French flair. With fashion boutiques from Armani to Zegna, St Bart’s rivals the Rue du Fauborg St-Honore in Paris, except everything is duty- and tax-free, so you can finally buy that Cartier watch or Hermès bag at a more sensible price.
No need to buy though—your complimentary Regent excursions will take you to experience the sophisticated traveller’s pleasures: discovering the island’s spectacular beaches, or sailing in the clear blue waters, perhaps riding through shaded jungle trails—or taking your own line among the designer shops and pavement cafés of Gustavia, our port of call, a charming village and harbour, bustling with small boats and luxury yachts. To take a leisured six-star cruise to St Bart’s is a brilliant way of visiting this oh-so-stylish Caribbean island, since there are no direct scheduled flights from the UK.
Then it’s on to St John’s, Antigua. With a white-sand beach for every day of the year, the heart-shaped island of Antigua is a haven for sun-seekers and sailors. There’s plenty of British history to discover here, too, including Nelson’s Dockyard and English Harbour. We may take a trip to Shirley Heights and Clarence House—or simply enjoy a catamaran cruise with Champagne and lobsters, enjoy the island’s finest rums, or swim with stingrays. All these, plus cooking classes and photography excursions, will introduce us to the very best of Antgua before we return to the comforts of our suite on Voyager for a sundowner and an evening of fine food and wine and entertainment as she sails on to the luxuriant tropical island of St Lucia.
Sandy coves explode from crystalline waters, all overlooked by the famous peaks of the Pitons of St Lucia. Fought over for two centuries, this is a Nature lovers’ island, offering beach safaris and zip-line adventures, underwater activities and more—not least a sea trek where you’ll don a diving helmet to stroll along the sea bed for a spectacular view of the marine life without even getting your head wet.You can explore the geothermal area that is said to be the ‘world’s only drive-in volcano’, La Soufriere. Or touch the Pitons and dive into the Diamond Waterfalls. Or take St Lucia’s trolley-train. The snorkelling is rich and rare here, and there’s trips by boat, by kayak and bamboo rafting. Or simply relax and sink your toes into one of St Lucia’s famous beaches and listen to the gentle lapping of the waves. It’s your choice to do as much or as little as you please before eventually returning to Grandeur for all the comforts of your six-star ship.
That evening, back on board Grandeur, we shall relax, wine and dine, ready for our final Caribbean port of call: this is Philipsburg, the Dutch capital of St Maarten. This busy island is the smallest land mass in the world to be shared by two nations—the smaller southern ‘half’ is part of the Dutch Antilles and France owns the rest. This is a gentle, fertile landscape of soft pastures grazed by horses and cattle, with green and hawksbill turtles nesting on the shores, good fishing and even better yachting. And Regent have a surprise for us here: we might just manage a race in one of Dennis Conner’s world-famous America’s Cup Twelve-Metre Class yachts, Stars and Stripes, Canada II or True North I. A race in this class of racing yacht, the fastest in the world, is a memorable yachting experience. The downside is that this is not a guaranteed excursion by any means, due simply to the limited number of people these iconic multi-million-dollar yachts can take—and this has been voted Best Shore Excursion in the Caribbean for more than a decade. The insider trick if you have not booked early is to turn up on the day in case of a cancellation, which happens more often than not. (If you want a guaranteed sail in one of the ‘Twelves’, we’ll book you in for a later cruise!)
What is guaranteed is that for two more days and nights we shall luxuriate in the floating palace that is Grandeur as she cruises first the Atlantic Ocean and then the Bahamian Waters. This will be time to soak up the sun on board ship, and to make sure of having experienced all that this stylish vessel has to offer. As with so much about Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the choices are great, the style elegant and relaxed, with freedom to be yourself. So if it is your pleasure to enjoy a glass of chilled Champagne with canapés on your private balcony each evening as the sun sets over yet another beautiful Caribbean seascape, consider it done: a bottle will arrive, on ice, at the appropriate moment. Whole Maine lobster and Alaskan king crabs? Foie Gras au Sauternes or Homard Rôti et Mousseline de Saint-Jacques? Fresh truffles and foie gras? Caviar with your scrambled eggs? All are yours for the ordering. Private dinner for two in your suite? Certainly: at any time of day or night, served course by course, just as it should be. Roulette? The casino is open for play. Cognac and cigar? Time to visit the Connoisseur Club. Golf? Tennis? History lecture? Cabaret? A good book or film? Swimming? Sunbathing, iced cocktail to hand?
