The Wellington Hotel by Blue Orchid is rather a gem—a smart contemporary townhouse within a magnificent Edwardian building, once home to the College of Theology. It stands in peaceful surroundings next door to another Members’ favourite, the Rochester, in Westminster’s leafy Vincent Square.
It offers an oasis of calm in the heart of Central London, and a sense of history—during its creation as an hotel many period pieces were uncovered and included within the new decorations.
There are 84 guest bedrooms and five apartments, all modern in-room conveniences and smart bathroom facilities. There is a well-regarded Italian restaurant, bar and library, a small business centre, 24-hour reception and concierge service.
The Wellington is a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and St James’ Park. Victoria rail station is also nearby, with easy links to Gatwick via the Express rail service.
The Wellington, a former Grange hotel, is now owned by Blue Orchid.
