The 2024 Miraval rosé is another delicious vintage. This, the best rosé in the world according to critics including those at Wine Spectator, is deemed ‘the perfect Provençal rosé’ by the leading rosé connoisseur at Berry Bros & Rudd. The 2024 vintage certainly continues in this manner. It is the perfect drink for summer.
Notes Decanter: ‘You’ll probably know the Miraval name because of its celebrity owners: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bought the Provence estate in 2011. But behind the starry names is a range of rather good wines, perfect for summer drinking. This blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah delivers fresh strawberry and grapefruit zest aromas. Fresh, crisp and mineral, with silky red berry fruit, this is far too easy to drink… Enjoy!’
Notes James Suckling: ‘Elegant and precise, with aromas of wild strawberries, pink nectarines and subtle citrus peel layered with delicate floral notes and a touch of crushed stones. The medium-bodied palate is sleek and finely textured, driven by bright acidity and highlighted by a clear mineral backbone. The finish is lingering and refreshing. Drink now or hold.’
The charming terraced vineyards of Miraval, surrounded by forests and garrigue of thyme and olives date from Roman times and produce what is seen as perfection in Provençal rosé, which is crisper and drier than rosés from elsewhere. Miraval is palest pink, with an intense nose of perfumed pear blossom, roses and cherry candy. The palate is soft and round, with notes of wild strawberries, berries, herbs and and a limestone minerality expressive of the terroir, giving the wine great freshness and a hint of salt with a long, perfumed finish—and it has plenty of structure, creating a rosé wine which the local refer to as ‘vins de gastronomie’.

Miraval’s fame spreads to its owners, Hollywood film stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie—but do not let this put you off. The estate is expertly run by the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and as such it is the only rosé to have made the Wine Spectator Top 100 list of the Best Wines.
It matches beautifully with summery delicacies including salmon (ceviche, poached or smoked), fruits de mer platter, baked fish with fennel, pasta with light sauce (fresh tomato, prawns), rare rack of lamb, charcuterie, olives and fresh, grassy olive oil, parma ham (especially with peaches and figs), Provençal stuffed vegetables, fresh tomato salad, goat’s cheese, strawberries and fromage frays.
