All animals are not equal. Some, whether we like it or not, are more equal, more interesting, more likely to grasp the imagination. It is not always easy to identify what it is that gives them this advantage, this happy accident that catches our interest, for natural selection works randomly and heedlessly. However it happens, one thing is certain: pigs have it, and sheep do not. And here the master animalier sculptor Michael Simpson has captured the character and moods of three individual pigs in a fine tableau in bronze.
As to character, pigs remind us of ourselves. As Sir Winston Churchill said, ‘Cats look down on you; dogs look up to you; but pigs look you in the eye.’ Behind the eye of a pig lies the brain of an animal with hidden talents—and Michael Simpson captures the attention and captivates the imagination.
Pigs being social animals, the sculptor has created them as a set of three in a limited edition tableau of 350.
They will arrive beautifully presented in a smart case, together with their unique limited edition number and certificate of authenticity.
