This splendid Georgian country-house hotel at Dunchideock stands in 10 acres of grounds overlooking the beautiful Exe estuary, four miles from Exeter. It dates from 1737, and its grounds were landscaped by Capability Brown, whose romantic vistas can still be enjoyed by hotel guests.

This privately-owned hotel has been awarded three AA stars. It has a first-class reputation for offering guests peace, quiet and a high standard of service and cuisine.

It is an ideal centre for walking, fishing, bird-watching, riding and general sightseeing: several National Trust properties lie nearby and Dartmoor is half-an-hour’s drive, as is the nearest coastal resort of Teignmouth.
