Hôtel de Sers Paris: an aristocratic five-star Champs-Elysee hotel with panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower: stylish, elegant, filled with creature comforts—and truly a room with a view to make a celebration even more memorable

Hôtel de Sers in Paris is charming—and particularly apt for an occasion requiring a room with a view. Book a night in an Eiffel Suite or Apartment with terrace and your view of the soaring Eiffel Tower and the Paris rooftops is guaranteed to make a special occasion even more memorable.

This aristocratic 19th-century townhouse yards from the Champs-Elysee began life as the private Parisian home of Henri-Leopold Charles, Marquis de Sers. This country nobleman had an eye for location. The Eiffel Tower was still in its planning stages when in 1880 de Sers commissioned his classic four-storey mansion. And in 1888 the mansion was in prime position to view the new Tour Eiffel. And now the Hôtel de Sers continues the tradition for its guests.

The de Seas combines all this rich history and prime location with contemporary style and excellent five-star service. This luxurious chateau-like petite palace is a short walk from the illustrious George V in the heart of Paris’s ‘golden triangle’ luxury district (it is frequently recommended by its grand neighbour when the George V is sold out—and by the hotel experts at CountryClubuk!).

The hotel retains the ambience of an aristocratic townhouse, with a 22 metre long gallery, a grand staircase, an elegant salon and an impressive array of French paintings by distinguished artists.

It also exemplifies sensible contemporary design—far from being starkly modernist it is simply clean-lined, uncluttered and unpretentious. Guest rooms feature furniture by Poltrona Frau, fabrics by Missoni, and high-tech flourishes like Bang & Olufsen flat-screen televisions. The new elements never overpower the French classical style. There is now a visual harmony between Haussmanian elegance in such features as the panelled lounge and portrait gallery, and the dark rosewood furniture, and the sculptural occasional tables and retro-floral fabrics.

There are 45 guest bedrooms, Superior, Deluxe, Prestige and Family, plus Executive Suites—and two large Eiffel Suites with furnished terraces offering the best views over the Eiffel Tower and Paris at large, as well as the 80 sq metre Marquis Apartment which also offers those panoramic views. Each guest room features quality touches such as an Italian marble bathroom and rosewood furniture, while being technologically up-to-date, with iPods and speakers, video-on-demand and flatscreen TVs. All are air-conditioned and soundproofed. The hotel also offers a fitness room, sauna, hammam and jogging circuit.

Enjoy 24-hour room service—on your panormaic view terrace if you have booked the Eiffel or Marquis suites! Or saunter along the Gallery of Portraits into the delightful De Sers Restaurant, with stylish furnishings and a garden theme overlooking a courtyard. Take a table in the dining room which features marble décor or in the outdoor terrace, sourrounded by foliage. The fresh garden theme extends to the oft-changing menu and the wine list is excellent. A sweeping staircase leading to the hotel’s S’Bar amid the rosewood and ivory panelling and a period white-marble fireplace. It’s a great place to be in the ‘golden triangle’ sipping cocktails and Champagne.
