The rich splendour of the Mughal Emperor Akbar crossing the River Ganges with Elephants in 1567 is featured in this stunning silk tie by Fox & Chave.

The scenes are taken from the Akbarnama, a three-volume historical record of the life and reign of the Mughal Emperor, created by his court historian Abu’l Fazl in the late 16th century.

The South Asian rooms of the Victoria and Albert Museum revel in the rich splendour of Mughal painting, with its flattened perspectives, bustling locales and bold colour palettes made up of scarlet reds and burnt oranges, amber yellows and golds, and subtly complementing shades of viridian green and Persian blue.

Fox & Chave have created this fine pure silk tie from the wonderful images, beautifully printed on pure silk and expertly hand made.

Above all, it’s an interesting and unique tie which will beautifully lift any suit or jacket.
