Our Club’s distinguished hatmakers, Christys’ London, the world’s oldest milliner (since 1773 in fact!), have created a rather smart and elegant new handmade Panama Trilby hat in no fewer than 23 variations—so there is always a hatband or a feather to create the perfect Panama hat to match any outfit for any event.
The hoods are hand-woven for Christys’ in Ecuador, semi-bleached, then hand-finished in their Oxfordshire workshops in the many different styles. In plain ribbon, there is classic black, navy or cream; in textured ribbon there is brown or navy.
Striped hatbands are many and various, including red and navy; cream and orange; navy, beige and silver; black, grey and cream; green and purple; navy and gold; and navy, red and cream. Others add a jaunty feather or two.
