As dawn breaks on Dec 17, Prestige will sail into Funchal Harbour on the sunshine island of Madeira for the first time. Described as the ‘Island of Eternal Spring’, Madeira’s climate and volcanic soil combine to produce an abundance of sub-tropical flora and this, with the rugged landscape, scenic fishing villages and magnificent vistas make it a serene and lovely place in which to relax and escape the British winter.
