Ochre Cashmere: the brand
There is something special about Oche Cashmere, and not only due to their understated fashion style and the high quality of their cashmere. An English company, and a hands-on family business, they are rooted in Kathmandu, Nepal, where they work with the local women who hand-make their designs. Their focus, beyond the most gloriously elegant fashion, is in helping the Nepalese—known so well to us in the UK as the Ghurka Regiments of the British Army.
This special company employs 90 women from the villages of the Kathmandu Valley. On the back of their success as a fashion label they founded the charity, the Human Touch Fund, a voluntary organisation helping children and their parents in Nepal, focusing on education and health.
