Omersa leather animals are world famous. Handcrafted in Lincolnshire from the highest quality full-grain cowhide, they emerge as individuals with character and charm—one of the family, in fact. Members of course receive a preferential price, and many have already ordered the famous Yorkshire pig (created in 1927) and trademark rhinoceros, as well as hippos, terriers and dachshunds. Now we have another hand-picked menagerie member to show you—the Galapagos Turtle.

The Galapagos Turtle is a marvellous piece, and a substantial piece of furniture. He is not easily overlooked. The shell is a patchwork of leather, stained and polished to give a lovely tortoiseshell effect. Inside the leather is a metal neck attached to a robust wooden frame. Once assembled, the leather is stained to give an antique effect in mahogany brown, then waxed and polished to a luxurious finish. Dimensions are 950mm long by 760mm wide by 350mm tall (3ft 1in by 2ft 6in by 1ft 2in). Weight is 11kg (24lb).
