Join us for a CountryClubuk Champagne Reception and Lunch Party at Henley Royal Regatta 2019 on Saturday, July 6

We are delighted to announce a new and exclusive Henley Royal Regatta experience in this, the Regatta’s 180th year. Enjoy the ultimate rowing extravaganza at a private CountryClubuk party on the banks of the River Thames in The Hidden Garden, a new and exclusive Regatta facility in a sophisticated and contemporary English garden atmosphere with an elevated viewing terrace—and enjoy the welcome Champagne reception and five-star luncheon at an exclusive Members’ price. For details, read on . . .

The English Season, like the works of Vivaldi, is dazzling. This spectacular round of parties and sport naturally includes Henley Royal Regatta—and this year our Members are invited to watch the rowing, drink Champagne and enjoy a delicious lunch at a private CountryClubuk party within The Hidden Garden, an elegant newcomer at the heart of the world’s most famous and prestigious regatta. This will be a fashionably sophisticated place in which to relax and enjoy the Henley Regatta experience.

Henley is the perennial English river party, an extravaganza of giant young rowers, blue-and-white marquees, gentlemen wearing striped blazers and boaters, and ladies in their summer dresses. It is also of course about serious rowing: the cream of the world’s sportsmen will be there in this, the 180th anniversary of the Regatta’s founding in 1839 by J D Bishop, of the Leander Club. And situated on the Berkshire river bank, five minutes from Henley town centre and just past the Stewards’ Enclosure, The Hidden Garden is a new venue launching at this year’s Regatta.

In this premium location on the Berkshire bank of the course, you can step away from the bustle of the busy towpath and watch the races from a private custom-built viewing terrace and enjoy private dining with large sofas and space to breathe in a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere in your own private Club area. In The Hidden Garden you will enjoy to advantage some of the real pleasures of this English summer party, from a Champagne and canapés reception to a buffet-style luncheon banquet including seatrout and strawberries and cream, served with an array of delicious salads and wine. And you can be sure that your surroundings, the style and service, will be a cut above.

The Hidden Garden is the inspiration of the actors Oliver Coleman and Charlotte Salt, who have set out to elevate Henley offerings, deliver the highest of standards of service, and create the epitome of summer, socialising and real sporting experience with flair and inspiration in a beautifully designed environment.
Our Club party will take place on Saturday, July 6, Semi-Finals Day, from 11am to 11pm. On arrival there will be a Champagne reception (the distinguished Champagne House, Henriot, founded in 1808, will be served) and elegant fresh canapés, followed by a delightful buffet-style luncheon banquet created by leading caterers Spook, whose clients include Boodles, Tiffany, Sotheby’s, Purdey—you get the picture. This will be served with a delicious half bottle of wine per guest (full menu details, right).

Music will play, and you will be surrounded by the most elegant floral environs—an English garden style recreated by the sought after London florist Sarah Loughrey-Jennings of Hiding In The City Flowers, who has worked at some of the finest venues.

The last race finishes at about 7.30pm, there having been 44 races in the day—yet in The Hidden Garden the night is still young: you can stay and dance the night away to live music and DJs throughout the evening until 11pm.

If you are an ardent Regatta goer, The Hidden Garden experience will add new sparkle—and if you have never been before, this will be an excellent first-time experience. All in all, we believe it will be a truly memorable Henley Regatta. Full details:
