You may just need another tweed jacket to bring your wardrobe bang up to date while keeping you toasty warm—and this new jacket in hand-woven Harris Tweed in a fabulous Grouse colourway is smart and elegant, and versatile enough to take you from Knightsbridge to Beaufort country in perfect style.
The tweed is a beautiful Grouse estate tweed in a blend of dark olive and loden green with a muted burgundy and sand overcheck, and it is designed and tailored in London. It has an elegant, gently waisted cut, a stand collar with neck button, dark velvet collar, two front bellows pockets, flapped and buttoned, with that tell-tale of fine tailoring, matching overcheck and contrast pocket flaps. An internal full front zip will help beat the cold, with a front four-button plackets, and the back is plain. It is fully lined.
The tweed is genuine pure wool Harris, with the Orb Mark which guarantees that it is ‘hand-woven by the islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides’. The yarns and cloth are dyed in the wool, meaning they are dyed before being spun—which is of course the origin of the saying. Only when the tweed is in pristine condition is it presented to Harris Tweed Authority inspectors for testing and certification, meaning the tweed is of the highest quality and will be hard-wearing and warm.
As to style, this a jacket which instantly pulls together any look with polish and style—a welcome and ladylike palate refresher, fashionably long, fitted and figure-enhancing, in its gorgeous moorland palette. A fresh take on the heritage classic, it’s anything but stuffy and will serve you well into the spring and for many years to come, as it only gets better with wearing. And through the Club it is a superb direct-from-the-designer price.
