A well-fitted fine wool waistcoat is de rigueur to wear with a morning suit, and this is both handsome and smart in a lovely shade of dove grey by Magee 1866.

It adds gravitas to any single-breasted suit, offering an opportunity to cut a dash and make a statement; and because it holds the tie in place and keeps the shirt neat and tidy. It also lends an efficient appearance to working in shirt-sleeves.

Beautifully hand-stitched, it is a classic tailored single-breasted waistcoat with six front buttons (the last button is never fastened, a style set by King Edward VII), two lined waist pockets and a satin back (which has side adjusters to ensure the perfect fit), and is fully lined throughout.

Chest size 42in only—sadly Magee have ceased making this lovely waistcoat.
