Magee 1866: best price for this stylish, smart Erne coat in a beautiful thick handwoven lambswool Donegal brown herringbone tweed: warmth and style combined
This is a really high-class tailored overcoat. Usually costing £500, it looks made-to-measure, it will not date, it is soft and warm, it will last a lifetime, and with its elegant shorter-than-Corrib length it looks smart and stylish in city and country alike. It’s a coat which will last a lifetime.
Named Erne, it is the stylish update on the all-time famous Corrib. The handwoven herringbone tweed is a beautiful dark brown and oat . It is made by our Irish tailors, Magee, well cut from their own winter-weight handwoven wool herringbone Donegal tweed (560g, or just under 20oz), in that classic raglan style which gives plenty of room for a jacket underneath, yet looks streamlined and non-bulky.
Like Corrib, this is a real man’s coat, straight cut and with all the tailoring details of smart collar buttoning to the neck for warmth (no open revere to let in the wind), concealed front buttons, a single rear vent for movement, adjustable cuff tabs, two roomy side pockets to keep your hands warm and, within the heavy satin lining, three suede interior zip and button pockets for wallet and valuables.
This classy overcoat is an investment buy. Sizes 40in to 50in chest in regular fitting. Depending on your height, this coat is just above knee length or three-quarter.
RRP £502 plus delivery. CCUK Members £219 including UK mainland delivery.
