A fine polished wood humidor is the best and most impressive means of preventing his cigars from either drying out or growing mouldy. The Club’s cigar humidors are made by Hillwood of London, whose unique patented humidification system is renowned worldwide. It will keep cigars at the proper humidity level of 65% to 70% (most houses are 45%), and the cigar smoker’s temper equally even. As Hillwood are famous for making exquisite jewel boxes, their humidors are also impeccably designed and crafted in fine wood, and will enhance any man’s study, office or dining room.
This new English Burl Walnut Humidor (holding 25 Churchill cigars) is a most impressive box, rich with natural knotting in the grain (only one tree in 200 has the required figuring). English walnut is renowned for its use in fine cabinetry, musical instruments—and gun stocks.
The mirror-gloss finish to the walnut is produced by means of no fewer than 15 coats of glass lacquer. It is cedar-lined, as a good humidor should be, with dividers, and the base is fitted with a removable wood and brass mesh frame to enable uniform airflow around the cigars in the bottom of the box. This beautiful humidor measures 27.5 x 23.5 x 12cm.
RRP £260. £189.
