To have a day at Royal Ascot is one thing: to be invited into the prestigious Royal Enclosure is quite another. The Royal Enclosure has been the centrepiece of the British Social Season since being exclusively reserved for guests of King George III, and Royal Enclosure membership is still by invitation. So we are delighted to invite you to join us and enjoy this year’s Royal Ascot from the prestigious Royal Enclosure on the Opening Day, Tuesday, June 18.
This historic heart of Royal Ascot has been a centrepiece of the British Social Season since it was exclusively reserved for the guests of King George III for the running of the Gold Cup in 1807.
To this day, membership to the Royal Enclosure is by invitation only, and it takes planning—one needs to be sponsored by two Members who have attended the Royal Meeting for at least four years, and to reapply each year. Membership is not guaranteed, by any means.
And so we are pleased to say that we have access to the Royal Enclosure for CountryClubuk Members. With HM The King and HM the Queen with HRH the Prince and Princess of Wales in the same environs, in this, their own Royal Enclosure, together with other members of the Royal Family and His Majesty’s invited guests, this is probably the most privileged access in the social calendar.
We shall be combining the unique social atmosphere of the Royal Enclosure and the highest quality Flat racing in the world, safe in the knowledge that all creature comforts are being attended to. This is Royal Ascot, and you will be royally wined and dined in the heart of the Royal Enclosure.
This year’s Royal Ascot race meeting will be as spectacular as any in its history. Everybody will be there to see the glorious day unfold. Everybody is excited, from trainers to owners, racegoers and Royal guests. The sight of the Royal procession of open landaus pulled by the Windsor Greys along the Ascot turf on the Opening Day will be fabulous.
Not only is Royal Ascot the highlight of the Season—it also happens to be one of the world’s greatest race meetings, and every owner wants to win a race, including HM Queen Elizabeth, who had 23 winners, the first in 1953, two weeks after her Coronation. In 2013 Her Majesty became the first reigning Monarch to win the prestigious Gold Cup. At such times Her Majesty’s regal composure barely contained her enthusiasm for the battles unfolding at her feet. Such is the thrill of Royal Ascot, and the memories which linger on.
In a moving moment last year, King Charles celebrated an emotional victory as his horse, Desert Hero, won the King George V Stakes. Bred by the late Queen, the colt was among the horses inherited by King Charles and Queen Camilla, and the win provided bittersweet emotions of happiness and regret, seen clearly in the Royal Family and racegoers alike. Such are the emotions which this, the world’s greatest race meeting, evokes.

At precisely 2pm, His Majesty The King, HRH the Prince and Princess of Wales, and other members of the Royal Family arrive in a magnificent procession ahead of an afternoon of world-class racing, spearheaded by three impeccable Group 1 contests.
This will be a fabulously elegant party—opening with a Champagne reception, followed by a delicious four-course luncheon with excellent wines and liqueurs, and later by a full afternoon tea served with Champagne. Throughout, there will be an all-day bar, again including Champagne, fine wines and liqueurs.
