A Liberty of London silk scarf is forever chic. No matter what the fashion, it embodies style—and as Coco Chanel so famously said, good style always endures. Little wonder that Liberty print is featured at the V&A! So when we saw these irresistible new Spring patterns—Feathers and Nouveau, together with Paisley—we fell in love. All three are so individual, it is difficult to choose!
These silk satin scarves encapsulate everything for which Liberty is famous. The classic silk scarf features two new Liberty prints. Pictured above, left, the gorgeous Feathers, otherwise known as the Caesar Liberty print, a classic Liberty design and a fresh take on the peacock feather pattern, here in a smart new colourway of black with ivory, turquoise and fuchsia.
Centre: Another famous Liberty print, the Ianthe, the concept created by well-known French Art Nouveau designer, Rene Beauclair, in about 1900. The Ianthe design was redrawn by David Haward’s Studio and is a timeless and a true reflection of Liberty’s heritage. Ianthe is Greek for purple or violet flowers, suggesting that the flowers in the design may have originally been drawn from violets. This new colourway is an elegant palette of violet, pale fuchsia, leaf and cobalt, with splashes of rose red to create a unique and very beautiful pattern.
And on the right is a classic Paisley updated from Liberty’s original Merton printworks from 1904, here in pastel shades of rose, camellia and carnation pinks, turquoise, leaf and ivory—giving your wardrobe instant pink uplift for this season.
These Liberty silk scarves are beautifully hand-made by Lady Crow in Scotland, double sided and at just under 5ft (150cm) long by about 6in (15cm) wide, giving a myriad ways to create your personal style. Wear at the neck to beautifully frame the face, looped once for a long look, twice for a Berkeley style folding of patterns at a shorter length, or wrap around three times for a high-neck style over a cashmere polo-neck or under a jacket, using the magnetic clasp to make an infinity scarf. Wear round the waist or wrap in an ultra-sleek turban—the choice is yours.
However you wear this world-famous theme you can indulge your sense of British style—and a classic Liberty silk scarf always makes a discerning gift. Each scarf arrives gift boxed for presentation.
