Our latest collection of handwoven limited edition stoles has arrived from the Himalayas, and it is beautiful. Each stole is designed and woven by hand especially for us high in the mountains by Gulshan, a Master Weaver who is acknowledged as one of the most skilled in his country. He is an artist as well as a master of techniques, with an unwavering eye for originality and haute couture.
He specialises in creating and combining unusual, beautiful colours and patterns with a fashion designer’s eye, and each is an original, exclusive to its wearer. The nearest we have seen to the quality, originality and couture of his designs is found in Liberty with price tags of £185 and more.
Here we present his Gaugin Collection, a series of 7 limited edition pure merino wool designer stoles which are then finished with artisan needlework, also in wool, to outline some of the flowers and leaves, giving an extra dimension and textured effect. It is highly effective.
Based on an artistic and floral theme, the patterns are intricate, original and harmonious, and the colours gorgeous—rich browns and golds, chocolates and greys, cool purples and splashes of red or orange: each is a minor art work.
This soft, thick, merino wool stole will warm you on cold days and nights, as it does in the Himalayas. It will enhance a coat, suit or dress, add colour to your outfit and create a unique silhouette. Moreover, each is a mark of personal style, adding an artistic touch to many occasions, from shopping in Chelsea to a gallery opening, concert or lunch party.
Each Gaugin Stole is approximately 6ft x4in long by 2ft 4in wide (188cm x 72cm), which drapes beautifully, and is hand finished with fringing.
Choose from Martinique, Golden Harvest, Tahitian Pastorals, Among The Lilies, In The Forest, Landscape at Tahiti, and Corner of the Garden. Each stole is unique, so there is one only: please order the design which you would like.
