Pure silk ‘Flights of Fancy’ stole from Richard Delaunay’s painting ‘Hommage à Blériot’
Modern art, aeronauts and fashion combine to perfection in this stunning sheer silk chiffon stole. It’s a great stole to take with you on a flight! The design is inspired by Richard Delaunay’s painting ‘Hommage à Blériot’, in tribute ot his feat as the first aviator to fly across the English Channel. The circles represent the moving blades of an aircraft propeller, the multiplicity of colours depict sky, sea and land in blue, red, orange, yellow and green. This is an extremely versatile stole which transforms an outfit in an instant, adding style and splashes of colour for gallery openings, parties, lunches and dinners. From the Fine Art Silk Stoles Collection, it is beautifully made, with hand-rolled hems, and long at 180cm by 55cm (5ft 11in by 1ft 9in). The pure silk chiffon is fine enough to roll into the neckline of a jacket or shirt, and large enough to add an original look when worn as an evening stole.
