Veuve Borodin NV Champagne Brut: Praised by the critics and loved by the Club Tasting Panel: Case of 12 bottles delivered

£269.00

This non-vintage Champagne is a prestigious aged cuvée which stood out from a crowd of very famous names in the Tasting Panel’s blind tastings. They were surprised and delighted at the qualities it showed and we are pleased to present it to Members. It is perfect to welcome your guests in any party season.

This clever blend is 30% Chardonnay, chosen for its floral bouquet and elegance, 55% Pinot Noir selected for its finesse and structure and 15% Pinot Meunier for its roundness. This lovely Champagne is a brilliant straw gold colour, and the palate demonstrates a delicious balance between toastiness and citrus freshness. The expressive fine, fresh nose opens with white flowers, continuing with notes of white peach, apricot and some citrus. These are followed by elegant flavours enriched by intense notes of candied fruits and honey. The mousse is lively and fine, giving the wine a pleasing, refreshing finesse with a lovely persistence.

This classy Champagne is not a mass-produced Negotiant-Manipulant: it is produced by the famous Boizel family, whose Champagne production was established by Auguste Boizel in 1834. Still carefully run by his descendants, Evelyne and Christophe Roques-Boizel, the cuvees are blended personally by Boizel’s chief winemaker.

Complete, balanced, complex and a very accomplished Champagne, through the Club it is a supreme bargain, amazingly good for a Champagne of this quality.
