Chateau Laville Sauternes is a best-kept secret. It is the family property of Jean-Christophe Barbe, who is a Professor of Oenology at the University of Bordeaux, where his particular area of expertise is ‘noble rot’. This, as a Sauternes producer, he has had plenty of opportunity to study at first hand. A frequent recipient of awards, including several golds and most recently a Decanter Trophy, the wines have the complexity and lusciousness of fine Sauternes. Case of 12 half bottles.
