The 2022 Miraval rosé is another delicious vintage. The charming terraced vineyards of Miraval, surrounded by forests and garrigue of thyme and olives date from Roman times and produce what is seen as perfection in Provençal rosé, which is crisper and drier than rosés from elsewhere. Miraval is palest pink, with an intense nose of perfumed pear blossom, roses and cherry candy. The palate is soft and round, with notes of wild strawberries, berries, herbs and and a limestone minerality expressive of the terroir, giving the wine great freshness and a hint of salt with a long, perfumed finish—and it has plenty of structure, creating a rosé wine which the local refer to as ‘vins de gastronomie’.
