Artists in the garden: new silk bow ties, self tie: William Morris ‘Pimpernel’ from the V&A

£19.00

The hand-tied bow’s moody loops and unpredictable nature give a man subtle insouciance and aplomb. And here, a suitably artistic new trio of pure silk English bow ties combining Art and the Garden. They are perfect for the coming round of garden parties, weddings and christenings, gallery openings and summer shows, including, of course, Chelsea Flower Show (this year from May 22-26).

Painter, designer and poet William Morris’s 1876 design ‘Pimpernel’ is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and here it is on pure silk. The almost symmetrical pattern of entwined pale-green foliage and pimpernel plants with small yellow flowers was block-printed in distemper colours, by hand.

This lovely self-tie bow tie arrives in a smart gift box.
RRP £25 plus delivery. CCUK £19.
