The Magee Glenveigh jacket is rather special. It is crafted from suede-like fabric which is easier to wear and maintain than suede leather, and it has a stylish box-quilt design which transcends the seasons. A removable zippered inlay adds extra protection in cold weather, and when you wear it without it is cooler and lighter in spring and autumn. Complete with three roomy outer pockets for great functionality.
This is already a favourite jacket. Here it’s in smart olive with tailoring details including natural horn buttons, button-through fastening, button-fastened cuffs, adjustable press-stud cuffs and press-stud vents for ease of movement. Fully lined in Magee print. Fits true to scale, S-3XL.

The critical things to get right are the three c’s—cut, construction and cloth. The resulting jacket just looks good: close to the body, slim but not tight, no sagging shoulders nor bagginess. It was Beau Brummell who worked with the English fine cloth makers and tailors of London, setting rules in suit construction which still pertain. Hand stitching is a mark of quality; around the lapels, for example, it creates the perfect ‘roll’ to ensure the lapels lie flat. The more hand stitching, the better, important even when unseen, such as in the lining. The collar needs a felt lining to stabilise its line.
