Peridot and diamond ring: sold out

£695.00

Vivid green, with a hint of gold, the peridot is so ancient that it can be found in Egyptian jewellery from the early 2nd millennium BC. The stones used at that time came from a single small volcanic island in the Red Sea, and when that was exhausted the peridot became rare indeed—until a few years ago, when peridot was found in Kashmir. Not just any peridot—these were stones of wonderful colour and transparency. Our ring makes the most of these new stones in an original and elegant ring, designed by our jeweller to combine double square-cut peridot with trios of diamonds, 18 in all, and the 18ct yellow gold which is the perfect match for peridot. The peridot weight is 1.30 carats, the diamonds are .22 carats, and the ring is hallmarked in England.
