Designed by Angela Stevens, founder of Dora Designs, Jack is very much in the tradition of the Parson Jack Russell: bright, alert and apparently ready for whatever may be required of him. There is, however, one notable difference. This Jack will stay wherever you put him.
Made in smart country tweeds, with the familiar white and tan colouring, neat folded ears and a proper collar, he sits attentively at his post, whether holding open a door or simply improving the view from a corner of the room.
Filled with quartz sand to give him the necessary weight for duty, he is a useful fellow as well as a cheerful presence about the house.
For those who know Jack Russells, such exemplary behaviour may come as something of a surprise.

A Jack Russell on active service is not an unfamiliar sight in the country; finding one prepared to remain patiently at his appointed post may be rather more unusual.
Jack, happily, has been trained for precisely that purpose. From the Dora Designs Pedigree Collection, he is a splendid interpretation of the little working terrier: alert expression, neat folded ears, white and tan colouring and the unmistakable air of a dog who would like to know what is happening — preferably immediately.
His coat combines light beige wool-mix fabric with contrasting brown herringbone, giving him the appearance of being rather smartly turned out in country tweeds. Embroidered detailing defines his features and paws, while his collar completes the picture.
He is solidly made and filled with quartz sand, providing sufficient weight to hold open a door or help prevent it swinging shut. At approximately 30cm high and 1.27kg, Jack can be moved readily from living room to study, bedroom or wherever his services — or company — happen to be required.
There is something especially agreeable about a practical object with a personality of its own, and Jack has personality in abundance. For the Jack Russell household, the hunting home or anyone with a longstanding affection for these clever, determined little terriers, he should feel immediately at home.
And unlike most Jack Russells, once positioned, he can reasonably be expected to remain there.
