This stunning new hand-blown, hand-cut glass vase is an inspiration. It is created by a notable name in modern glassmaking, Monika Lubkowska-Jonas at LSA, who experiments with the endless potential of handmade glass—epitomised by this new design, named Fiord.
After mouth-blowing and hand scissor-cutting the rim, the upper part of each piece is re-heated to stretch the glass, then swung around so the hot glass falls in folds. It not only creates an individual and artistic piece of glass which looks beautiful with or without flowers, it makes flower arranging simple: the folds of glass hold the stems at different angles, adding extra artistry to any arrangement.
Interestingly, the vase looks very different depending on the glass. In black it is a statement piece with a stunning contemporary monochrome effect (and sells in Harrods and interior design emporia for £79 plus delivery).
It stands 60cm (2ft) tall, perfect for large arrangements, and arrives boxed for presentation as a gift (please let us know if you would like a gift card and gift wrapping).
